They didnt have any cichlid that could go into my tank. I did walk out with:
10x Black Neon Tetras
10x Serpae Tetras
6x Platies (2male, 4female)
10x Bronze Corydoras

So my Stocking is now:
10x Black Neon Tetras
13x Serpae Tetras
1x American Flagfish
10x Bronze Corydoras
2x BN
6x Platies
2x Mystery fry that were in Cory's bag

What kind of cichlid were you looking for???

If you wanted a "real" cichlid tank ( NOT community )... why could you not wait until they had the fish you wanted in the first place ????

Very, VERY confusing.............

Wow - 40 some fish. Hope you have a big tank! But your stock list looks impressive.

isn't that a lot of fish to get in just one trip?

Even though I ALWAYS seed my new tank with mature media I would never jump in and stock it with so much at once ..... you could of atleast split it up in 2 trips............ ATLEAST a few days apart.............. hopefully they will be ok.

there has been no mention of a tank size so far. the OP could very well have done a fishless cycle and the fish in their now may only be 25-50% stocking load

what cichlids were u looking for? are u still interested in any?

It was 29 USG
I wanted a small south american cichlid that would fit in but, lfs only had 2 fully grown Male Keyholes.
I made sure I didnt overload the tanks stocking, all my filters are full of mature media, and it was stocked with 30+ Rosy Reds untill I got home and released fish. I agree, it is sorta big on stocking but I do atleast a %10 W/C daily. Even Did a %50 today. My original plan was 4x Cupids, 10x Black Neons, and 10x Corys.
I like the looks now. Im glad I got 2 big crypt bunches for $10 and 2 big Anubias for $10. My Serpaes love running under the anubias leaves.

Not to pile on, but American Flagfish do better in coldish (68-72 F) water. They're subtropical at best.

I'm sorta over filtered so I'm good.
My American flag fish don't mind. He's a loner and he is real active. He's sorta is a bully to my platies but, thats when they get near his food.
I love the tank, I did lose a Black Neon and my oldest Serpae to stress while re arranging the tank so the plants had room.
