I'm On The Edge!

i bought one of the tanks and put neon tetras and cherry shrimps and they got sucked up the filter so if you put sexy shrimps in there they will get sucked up the filter and the lights dont have any cover the salt will just erdoe the lights so put some thing over that

That display tank is a disgrace! I cant' believe the stock they have in there! Mine certainly won't be as dreadful as that!

heya =]

how about a yellow tail damsel is it? or a yellow clown goby? or is the tank to small for them?

i gotta say, love the design!
The damsel will be too big but a coral goby may not be ruled out :D

Thanks for that shrimp heads up Scott! I will devise a guard for the filter inlet then. I will be making a plastic splash guard for the halogens too as I have access to heat safe acrylics at work :D All on the list of 'things to make'

Not entirely my fault this time though...it's the height of bad manners to be given a gift and not be shown to be using it asap, surely? ;)

I've just plonked than scaped the rock at the moment, but got some nice pieces :D

Got a nice new batch in at my fave LFS and I picked out 3 nice bits for now. Bearing in mind the tank's bioload is going to be really low with sexy shrimp and maybe some pom pom crabs and such, I don't really need too much in there, so it's just 2.5kg at the mo :D

I am just delighted that one of the bits I picked out fitted through the hole in the top! I had my eye on a really nice bit near the bottom of the tank but when it was pulled out we saw it was way too large and too nice a bit to break up.

I'm going to look for a nice bit of tonga branch to give a different dimension I think. That will finish off nicely!

I really like this bit!

I really have to mention that the halogens create shafts of warm light onto the rock that I think look really great!

The sand will be in soon, but not sure how I want the rock yet so just holding off for a day or so before I put that in.

Other than that I am really pleased with today's purchases :hyper:

im liking the scape alot =]

any ideas on how to cover up the filter intank?

hope all goes well for you!

Not too fussed about the intake tbh as it's almost invisible when you look at the tank. Once I get some tonga branch I am hoping to hide it with that a bit :D

I had a rescape (only took half an hour) Sand's in now and it's cleared real well. Pics tomorrow as my camera batteries are flat as a fart - both sets of rechargeables need recharging

now with added sand! Nothing else...just rock and sand for now
