im looking at these fish

y do you say no to the guppies? do they not go well with the gourami?
Speaking from personal experience, I've got guppies and dwarf gouramis in the same tank. For a few weeks the guppies have suffered the occasional tail nip and, even though I've not witnessed the attacks I'm 99% sure it's a dwarf gourami doing the damage.

You could chance it and be fine, but if 1 of the gouramis takes a liking to the guppies tails then it will cause a lot of unnecessary hassle. Such as having to buy a new small tank to move the injured fish into for treatment.

To continue to answer your questions...

and as for the filter im not to shur yet. i like my bio well on my goldie thank but the dwarf gourami s need a calm water pref so im looking at other filters. how many times an houre dose a tropical tanks water need to go though the filter? goldies need ten times an houre is it the same?

I have a bio wheel on my 29g w/ 2 pearl gourami that are BUILDING A BUBBLENEST. :)

I find that the key is keeping the tank topped off almost to the filter outlet so that the water doesn't fall so much as tumble out.

I think the standard is around 5 times the tank volume per hour for tropicals. The Penguin 125 would be a good choice, as would any number of other OverTheBack systems out there.

HTH!

Hi there, I got a male and female dwarf gourami in my 55g with guppies, they have never fin nipped luckily, the tank is quite heavily planted and there is enough space for them

i dont like dwarf gouramis, my last gourami was a lady killer. kept getting him girlfriends and hed attack em. i prefer pearl gouramis if u have the room

Guppies!! Definitely guppies. Platties and guppies are probably the easiest fish that you have on your list. Platties are kind of dull to me, but they are very hardy. Guppies, from my experience, are very hardy too, and the color combinations are sooooooo beautiful!! Both platties and guppies breed like crazy (although I haven't succeeded in keeping live fry yet...still new to fish). Cory catfish.....i am planning on investing in a group very soon. I just am not very impressed with the albino cory that everyone seems to have. I want a little color in my tank. Anyways, good luck with your tank...and let us know how you fare!!

Goldfish......ecccchhhhhhhhhh. So ugly to me. But...even ugly fish need owners.

Happy fishkeeping!!!

a lot of ppl dont like goldies. i dont like the look of some of the but some i realy do. the same with tropiclas. some i love others i hate. i realy want a neon blue dwarf grourami and i would like to acomadate my tank to the male and female i will be getting. possibly not a female i read the some need a female and othere will kill the female so more adivice on that would be cool. i would like guppies but some ppl say they dont go realy well with dwarf gouramis. so im going to go with the platies. and the albino corys, and possibly a school of tetras(not shur on wut ones though the glow lights r cool) i think ill add them later though wen its fully set up in about 4 to 6 months.
