I'm Doing It...

I always recommend a long waterleak test, but, if you're comfortable the tank is tight....sounds cool for liverock. Let the cycle begin. SH

thats cool... I'll be waiting for a while longer for the rock anyway.

I'm only just trying the lighting out properly... I had it runing for 3 hours with the fans on 4.5V the lights are fine but the tank temp went upto 26º... I've upped the voltage to 6V and will see if that helps the tank...

You also could try setting up a fan to blow on to the top of the tank... That will increase evaporation which means a little more RO water, but evaporation is a very efficient means of cooling ;)

I know just the hole i could fit it in.... :D

right folks... the slight temp rise wasnt due to the lights... the 35gal FW next to it is at 26/27ºC too...

This means that the lights dont look like they are heating the tank (good news)

I have replaced the impellor in the filter now too.

From advice on other forums I'mm be adding a bit more substrate as I want a pistol shrimp/goby combo and they dig...

something like >> This Pair <<

I might see how the LR at the LFS is doing this weekend :)

fingers crossed, It'll be live rock day tomorrow :)

the manager has been off this week and is going to give be a call tomorrow to let me know if its ok :good:

Looking good! :D :good:

I really like the look of that flat piece on the right

Final aquascape or just cycling it?

Dan

I actually quite like it like that... but it'll probubly move a bit - I've left quite a few gaps to add corals and 'stuff' :)

I took a bit of time to try and get as much of to coraline face up... I took that piccy literly as i posted the reply... and already we have signs of life showing their heads :)

sorry for the slightly misty apperance - i added more sand just before putting the rock in

I think you've done well with your aquascape..looks nice with plenty of flow thru and room on the side for maintenance. Good job. SH

Thanks SH....

I've got my first "what is it" inhabitant... looks like a small shell thingy... opens up to show a black lining and wiggly thing then shuts if I lightly poke it with a stick (I would too if someone poked me with a stick :D)
