I wasn't going to post this, but I'm annoyed and using the chance to vent... Please feel free to ignore this.
I came home from work at 6pm, headed out with the dogs and got back at about 9pm to find a guy I'd only ever met in passing parked on my drive.
He's a friend of a friend but I really don't know him and I've had virtually no interaction with him.
Obviously my friends know me as a fish guy, and clearly this particular friend has given the guy my address and told him to come to me with his issue. Needless to say I'm going to have to slap some sense into my friend the next time I see him.
The guy parked on my drive angrily told me that he was busy, I'd kept him waiting and called me a few choice names in the process. He told me that I'd been told he was coming and that I'd have the money for his fish.
I'd post what I replied with but I assume children are on this forum, obviously few of the words made it above 4 letters in length.
He had two damn boxes of bagged up fish in the back seat of his car, and another of nasty looking potted plants. He then tried to charge me £75 for the lot of them.
When I laughed in his face he then told me either I took them or they were going into the local canal, he had already got a buyer for the tank and wouldn't take them home.
Anyway, the end result is that I was left with the boxes of fish, plants and a bag of rock/wood (I didn't pay him). I've not looked through that last black bag to even check if it is all rock or if there is some wood too.
I've got 5 tanks in my house, 4 are occupied and the 5th is mid cycle and already earmarked for apistos. The rest of my tanks are in my fish room at my office, I have 2 quarantine tanks that are both currently occupied. One containing the results of an eBay purchase with a bad description and the other with some rams I was working on a tank for.
The only tank I had available was the tank the rams would be going into, and that was empty aside from some sand. It didn't even have water in it yet, so obviously it is uncycled and completely unready for occupants. As I had no choice I ended driving back to my office and throwing some wood and rocks in there, a filter and heater and calling it good.
I'm going to have to deal with this crap tomorrow, I think I've got enough media I can take from my other tanks in order to seed the filter, but if not I'm going to be doing some daily water changes I suppose.
I'm not even completely sure what's in there. I saw either platy or mollies, what looked like green tiger barbs, a few neons, and what I'm hoping was a bristle nose. There were certainly a good number of other fish in the 8 bags, but I'll have to look at that in the day.
I may see if I can unload these to my local fish shop unless I have tanks that already have the same species.
Anyway, I guess I should ask a question to go with the rant.
Have any of you had experiences that made you want to put hands on somebody, or just very angry?
