I'm an angry fish keeper right now.

I was going to say otocinclus, but then realised that they're basically plecos. They're very nice, though. Maybe shrimp? Not looked into the water hardness preferences for a lot of shrimp but it might be an option.

Yes, otos are a great fish. Those, cory and kuhli loach are the only bottom feeders or cats I keep. I suppose I now have to include a Chinese algae eater I acquired along with some glo danio and housed in my plant grow out tank.

Otos have been my go to for a long time now, I currently have 18 tanks of various sizes and they are in all but about 3 or 4. Great little workers and I have no issue getting more for my apisto tank project, but I'm getting a little nerdy and deep diving into alternatives.

You know how it goes, you make a list of possible fish, then research and find out that one gets to 2 feet long... Then you rethink.

Trust me, I know the feeling!

Chinese algae eaters freak me out. Aren't they those evil little things that suck the mucous coats off of other fish?

Those are the ones, although I don't know enough about them to know how true that actually is. I've only researched them a little.

I'd only had the thing about 24 hours and it was already going after the other fish.

My sweet little pleco would never! That's the best thing about plecos: despite how big and menacing they are, they're never really what you could class as aggressive. A little skittish, maybe.

Ask him why he does it?
Try to get people around in public when you ask him. See if he has a valid response. If he doesn't, then he is probably overcompensating for being short or younger than everyone else and you might suggest he try not to act so immature. Although if he's 12 years old, he probably won't change and will simply call you a doody head and flick a booga at you.
immature is how boring people discibe cool people (joke)
