Ideas for cat hair?

Anybody have any ideas on keeping cat hair out of the tank? This just seems a bit much to me....lol.

So anyway...on a serious note. I'm ready to water test the tank! I resealed it and obviously painted my blue background on. So...soon I will start putting in water! Yay!

(Just a note...I will put the lid on so the cat won't get in it then....lol)

This is actually a real problem, not matter how tight a lid I have an how much I clean myself before doing tank work CAT HAIR ALWAYS GETS IN, I swear cat hair has a mind of its own

I don't have many problems with my smaller tanks, but then again they are almost completely covered with just a small notch on one side cut out to run an air line and cord for a heater. They are run on sponge filters only.

This tank will have 2 aquaclears and of course...the cat in the tank will be jumping on it...not that I want her to, but not much I can do really. Oh well. We will see how it goes!

The hair that floats around in the air likes to get stuck to my wet arm then I put it in the tank and it swims free The aqua clears are nice because I can see the hair when it gets stuck onto the intake

Take 1 electric razor and apply to cat.

lol great picture but you're doing it wrong. The tank is meant to be full of water for catfish.

On a serious note, an enclosed hood or a hood with some flywire netting would help keep the fur out of the tank and good fitting coverglass help too

as for Chinese hairless cats, damn they are ugly.

There is no such thing as a Chinese hairless, in either cats or dogs.

The hairless cat breed is the Sphynx, which sounds Egyptian, but was developed in the US.

There are two breeds of 'hairless' dog; the Mexican Hairless and the Chinese Crested; both have a small amount of hair on the head, tail and legs though, they're not completely bald.

Badly bred Chinese Crested certainly do win a lot of 'ugliest dog' competitions, but to be fair to the breeders, genes for hair often also affect the teeth, so they can end up a bit wonky! A good Chinese Crested is a very lovely dog, and I have a very soft spot for 'powder puffs', which is a Chinese Crested, but with hair. There's a folk story that says there's a powder puff born in every litter, to keep the others warm

I'm not a fan of the Sphynx cat though, it just looks wrong to me, and I'm not sure it's fair to deprive a cat of its whiskers.

I have 3 cats and 2 dogs inside. They may not have long hair (Moe is the longest haired of them all. Lol), but they sure shed tons anyway!

I bought a glass lid for this so now worries there. Hair is a part of life for me. I meant this post, well, the pictures as just a cute thing to post because it was funny. She just jumped in there and sat down looking around. Lol. I thought I would share it.

Mostly my tank is ready to be water tested since I resealed it. I'm sort of skeptical on a couple of places so we shall see how it goes! (Only the 2nd time I've resealed a tank). Hopefully I won't have to redo it!

There is a lady local to us who collects it and uses it to make things which she sells at fairs. I have a RagaMuffin and will soon have a Ragdoll (previously had a Persian) so I am one of her top suppliers - don't think she's sussed that sometimes she gets Labrador hair in there as well .

As for the tank I attach a surface skimmer and / or water polisher (both of the homemade soda bottle / airpump variety for a couple of hours each week.

Speaking of shedding, my kelpie x use to develop a beautiful winter coat and each spring I would groom her at the dog park. At the end of the combing session there was a hair outline of a dog, like the chalk outline on cop shows when they mark out a body.

When strangers came to the park and asked what it was we said a dog got eaten by a bird and that was all that's left.

The hair outline would be there for a week or so while all the local birds came and took it for their nests
