I Was Just Wondering One Day

I have a community tank (as seen in my signature; and yes I kno barbs would nip my bettas tail because they in such a small group.. thats only because two of the died awhile back) but what about gouramis and rainbowfish? could i put them with a betta? or no?

jus wondering today... not saying im gonna do it...

I had dwarf gouramis in with one of mine and didn't have any probs.

I have a large Gourami in with scribble my CT have no problems they keep out of eachothers way, Gourami is curious at most

I think a gourami or two would be okay with a betta but only if the betta was pretty laid back and the tank had plenty of surface area so they wouldn't fight over control of the surface air. Since gourami and bettas are both air breathers, in a small tank you could very well have a territory war.

i think i might add a couple gouramis in with my girls in the near future...
