But they take the skill of the more experienced hobbiest. They can also be some of the more expensive.
Well...I just looked at their pix. They are very beautiful, indeed! They are difficult to keep? hhhmmm, I'd hate to have something difficult to maintain.

I will look into them, though. Thanks for that, fanofish...they really are pretty.

Sorry to contradict people here but i dont think a 29g is big enough for angels :/ A 29g lacks the height needed by a adult angel fish which really preffer a deeper tank of at least 18", it would be ok for a couple of years but they would probably need to be upgraded after that.

:/ Thanks, Cassaundra....through my research, however, I have fallen in love with Angelfish. B)

I went to two petstore today (non-chain stores) and got completely conflicting info! The first one told me I could put four (4!!!) Angels in my 20 gallon tank. Full grown!

The second store told me that I could have a few dwarf sized Angels in my tank. I didn't even know there were dwarf size Angels. Then he proceded to tell me that I WANT GOLDFISH. I mean, he actually said that's what I want. I'm like "Uh, no...I want Angels" Anyway, it was quite an experience.

Then I went to see if I could find an Angelfish book. There aren't any! I'll have to buy a book online. I went to PetsMart, Petco, Borders and Barnes and Noble to look for Angel books. Nothing! There were several books on aquariums and general books on freshwater fish, but none provided enough info on Angels. I need to clarify all this conflicting info I'm getting.

I'm pretty sure I want a Koi Angel...but, I want to check out the other types, too. I really might get my Koi Angel from you Knucklhead, but It'll be a while until I do because my 20 gallon isn't even set up yet! :p

This forum is prolly one of the best places to get the info you need. I recommend also keeping several aquatic books on hand for quick reference. As your hobby grows youll soon learn that alot of lfs workers really dont know what theyre talking about. In all my years of keeping angels Ive never come across a dwarf species. He's prolly confused from seeing angels that have stunted growth from being in too small of enviroments. 4 angels in a 20? Theres no possible way to keep 4 happy and healthy in that confined of space. He was seeing dollar signs not healthy fish. Ill be more than happy to send you one of my koi. He/she will be ready at a dime size by the time your tank is setup and fully cycled.

Fresh or salt isn't a major issue, I suppose. Is one particularly more difficult to maintain than the other?
I've heard salt water is harder to deal with, but i'm not sure... ;)
