"adding 3 ppm then testing in 24 hours until you get to both zeros."
I thought the OP had already reached this milestone (?)...maybe I'm mistaken
I looked the darn thing up... Its already tried eating a snailYou mean damselfly larvae?...how do you know that's what it is?
That should not have happened; something intervened to interrupt the cycle.I did... But now the cycle went back a step I guess
Idk what I'll do with em... I may just toss it in the backyard and let nature take its course... I just don't want it eating my fishThe only way to get rid of it is to catch it and take it out of the tank. If it's a native one you can keep it in a container of water outside till it metamorphoses into the adult form; if it's not native you need to kill it. If it came on plants, it may well be a native of wherever the plants were grown.

You haven't messed with your filter(s), cleaned anything, or introduced non-dechlored water, correct?
Hmmm....strangeCorrect
Use a turkey baster, and suck it up next time you see it at restI was mixing the net around in the water to scare it out of hiding but I stirred up a little white worm thing
Great idea!Hmmm....strange

I like that purple colourThis is today's results... I added 3ppm of ammonia on Tuesday around 12:45PM and tested on Wednesday around 7:30PM. Those results were the ones I wrote about... Now I'm going to wait for my nitrites to drop to 0 and then add 3ppm again... Basically I'm going to redo the last bit of the cycle
