you should set up your own shop! :p

I have to go buy some food now, have been concentrating on fish all weekend and kinda forgot to get any food... my husband is not amused! :p

Lol i wish

ooopsie, oh well least uve had a good weekend getting ur betta

yeah :) Only problem is I have an exam on Monday and was meant to be staying in studying.... oops!
Do I just fix the heater away from the sides of the tank using suckers? Cos the tank is plastic so i don't want it to touch the sides. I'm sure my husband can constrcut something to keep it in place if needed, he's good like that!
Can anyone recommend some good plants to put in with my betta? All I have right now is a fake fern (not plastic, very soft!) and I would like to give him more plants to hide in. And I must buy a co#### to make a small cave for my froggies :)

i have also 2 bunches of real plants, and half a coconut shell cave u could put in with him

again, urs if u want them, will just add them in with the box with the heater

it has suckers, but u can lay it on the bottom of the tank at an angle

im sure it would be ok on the side, how big is the tank?

Really? Thank you so much, that would be great! I thought I was so well prepared for my betta but obviously not prepared enough :S
My tank is about 12 inches high I think, will have to go measure up i guess. Though lying on the sand would be fine too - I guess the frogs would sense the heat and not sit on it???? A cave would be great, I have bought a coconut but it takes so long to prepare.... :S and I need more coconut caves for my other tanks too, i am gonna be busy!

approx 4 gallons, i had a tank that size-ish too

heater will deffo be fine in there then

just packing it all up then will weigh it and get u a price sweet xx

Thanks! I have to say, i am still smiling at your generosity :). You are wonderful! :p I need to name my betta still, if you like you can name him :)

ok ive packed two Indian Almond leaves, and a small terracotta pot (teeny thing)

they love hiding in them, also the leaf u just snap it in half and pop it in the tank, after about 3weeks take it out and add the other half

its got good natural properties about it, so its all good for ur betta

im just bagging up the plants

is there anything else you need or u ok?

PS, what food have u got for him?

Hmmmm gimme a few mins to get my brain rattling and think of a name lol

Btw its not a problem :) xxx

:) Thank you! So the plant doesn't stay in forever then? I leave half in for a few weeks then remove it and out the rest in? Won't the rest die in the meantime? I am puzzled! :p
I have bought Tetramin betta food, which he is happily eating. Also I have given him a few freezedried bloodworms. My other fish have freezedried daphnia and krib and krill granules as well as their usual flakes, and my pleco has pleco tablets. Would a betta like any of those do you think? And are bettas likely to eat vegetables? I often feed my pleco cucumber which he loves, and tonight he is trying out carrot :p

the plants im sending will last lol

the Indian almond leaf, is different to the plants, its all dried up, imagine a crispy autumn leaf lol

chuck it in the water, it sinks after a few days, leave it for about 3weeks, take it out, and add the other half, ive enclosed 2 leaves, so it should last u about 12 weeks :)

yeah id stay away from freeze dried as it expands in their stomach and can lead to bloating and constipation

try the normal frozen stuff, its just as good :)

yeah they love pea's, cooked and de-shelled :)

what uve got food wise (other than the freeze dried) sounds perfect, espesh as u also have the betta food, never used tetramin betta food myself, but its probs all good :)

OK! I understand about the leaves now! :p
I have frozen bloodworms for my frogs so I guess he will eat some of that too, I did see him sniffing it earlier! I'll try him with a pea soon. I think he will like the krill granules too, will give them a try!

He's beautiful Tibby!
Tetramin Betta will be fine, my boys love it and it helps bring out their colours.
As suggested, vary the diet with frozen food, pellets, flake etc. Only feed bloodworm once a week as it is high in protein and can cause constipation.

Thanks Stang. I feed my frogs bloodworm twice a week but will try to distract the betta with betta flakes whilst they eat some so he doesn't get too much!

 Try using a pipette to squirt the bloodworm directly down to the frogs. I've tried this method a few times to make sure all the fish get fed.
