Re the fry - just be aware Ny that it's not only the dad that's likely to eat the fry - mum can too and don't rely on the maxim that the birthing females don't eat for 12 hours after giving birth. In my experience it hasn't happened that way. Keeps the tank levels reasonable tho.
Any signs of her having them yet?

I watched a female drop fry turn around and eat them. It was awful.

So...casually sitting here playing blops look over and he's swimming about flaring at himself! Now, guaranteed I go near the tank with the camera and he will go and hide!

Well done you got some shots...
 
When you get a camera, treat yourself to a tripod and then get a wireless remote shutter.  This way the camera is placed in front of the tank and then when you see the shot you want, BINGO, gotcha!  My camera also has a rotating back screen so I can put it at any angle to view the fish and get the shots I want without being stuck behind it.  What camera are you hoping to get?

I'm not a photographer, I don't need a big fancy camera. I had the pink sony cybershot!  I do like the nikon 1 in pink but like I say I am no photographer so it would sit in the cupboard!

Yes probably I can't keep up myself lol. My camera got lost when I moved here I loved that little pink camera.
