I Once Said I'd Never Upgrade...

royal grammas can sometimes be prone to sitting in amongst the rock. as for angels why not go for a flameback angel??

I have just added one to my tank. At first he did do this. He does not stray too far from the left hand bommie, does not go to the right at all. He seems to hover around the rock, looking for tasty morsels, he does swim about a little more now, but not far from his cave. He is on view on a lot, I will be putting some great pics of him in my journal in a bit. See what you think.

Piccy time again :D

The Muppets are hiding round the back but I managed a great piccy of Hooter :D

You can see where he's been eating the algae from the glass

I was given (yep, freebies) some gorgeous corals today from a friend shutting down one of his tanks! It's filled out the tank superbly although I still feel I need some more rockwork in one of the corners to break up the block of rocks a mit more.

FTS

Still undecided on the 'out there swimmy fish'

tbh, the tank lights make most of the corals etc look much more pinky/lighter than what they actually are. Still nice tank though, love that blue mushie

I am having a struggle getting the colours right for FTS without a filter on my camera lense I have to admit. I am contemplating other lighting options, but I may just try and take some shots with a polarising filter to see if that makes a difference. The individual pics under flash bring up truer colouration :D

o no, not polarizing filters! bringing back memories from my A level physics i just finished! *runs away*

 I am just guessing at a polarising filter tbh. We'll see.

More individual shots...
Norm has bagged himself the plating monti!

I'm mesmerised by this sps and it should apparently get a bit greener. It will be a good indicator with regard to water quality I am told

Good filters for this job are almost as expensive as lenses...download picasa3 off google...easy to use simple photoshop idea,lol..
Free and easy to use ..deffo worth a looksee!!
Apart from that..beautifil pictures of lovely healthy corals...oooo those acans!, guess I like em,lol...
Some blinders amongst your new freebies too!!

I actually use Photoshop CS3  Still learning to use alot of the programme but I think it's doing me well so far ;)

lovely monti jenny, you should see good growth on it, norm will be living in a mansion soon if its anything like mine.
You may struggle with the acro though, they are a bit tricky and seem to need shed loads of light.

looking good...as for an out there swimmy fish, gotta be a wrasse

That's why I have it up the top Ben. It's come from a tank of T5 lighting where it's been growing well for some time. If it looks like it is struggling then I have someone in mind to pass it on to :D

A lighting upgrade/increase is on the cards this side of Christmas, I am just not sure about MH due to the heat issues. The Aquaray leds interest me :D

I'm looking in to out there swimmy fish in thecardinalfish family at the mo. I don't really want banggais as my first choice although I love pyjama cardinals and there's a yellow stripey cardinalfish who's name escapes me at the moment.

dont rush inpt the aqua rays. the current ones arent really upto scratch. TMC have released plans to get some new ones out soon that are actually comparable to the sort of output you see from a MH.

If they fall short or are megga bucks then it should knock the price of the current ones down atleast.
