I Once Said I'd Never Upgrade...

Gobywan and Kenobi have found each other and Ken is busily excavating the back of the tank at the mo  He's a shrimp on a mission at the moment and moving sand like a shrimp posessed!

Gobywan is protecting him from Barry the boxershrimp and Bunsen and Beaker the watchman gobies who are finding it hard to keep away from him

I'm waiting for my camera batteries to reacharge and an FTS will be sorted as soon as :D

When it came to lights out last night, all we could hear was Kenobi firing off his pistols

The watchman gobies have found a nice spot at the back of the tank at the moment. Have I mentioned I am calling the male Beaker and the female Bunsen?

Cute watchman's Jennybugs  I love that acan too...can't wait to upgrade my lighting to get into LPS

Sooo glad you found Kenobi :yahoo:

Would i be right in thinking this is a tribute to the muppets???

In this instance the male watchman just happens to look like Beaker, yes

I have a history of naming my fish...

my 2 original percs were George and Mildred...George has since been widowed and is now Georgina with a partner called Spot who has a perfect single spot on his side.
I have a green reticulated coral goby called Norm who had a YCG mate called Cliff, and I have a prickle faced coral goby called tequila as it is lime green and enjoyed with salt. My possum wrasse is called Edna (Everage...possums...) and I have my hifin goby called Gobywan and his side kick Kenobi the pistol shrimp
My late departed starry blenny was called Alfred (it looked like an alien - remember A.L.F?).
I have a hammer coral called Enoch, a mythrax crab called Mr Krabs (who sits near a yellow sponge called Spongebob and I have a starfish called Patric who's small and green as opposed to big and pink), a brittle starfish called Big LEggy (it has big legs), a dwarf boxer shrimp called Barry (Mcguigan), a cleaner shrimp called Jacques and a peppermint shrimp called Fanny (named by the OH 'cos she "fannies about over everything") and some of my ricordeas are named after great explorers as they don't always stay put

Welcome to my (slightly bizarre) world

have you got any ideas what you will be adding next to the tank

regards scott

Now the YWG can get a shrimp. :good:
I've been reading up on this and am a bit concerned about the fact I have a pistol shrimp in the tank already? I have read that more than one pistol in a tank is likely to fight to the death  There is so much conflicting info.

Well Scott, I have been promised some corals from a tank breakdown so expect to see all sorts appearing in the next few weeks in that respect.

Fish wise, as the tank has more swimming space, I'd really like to add a few mid water swimmers. I'm thinking either a royal gramma pair or an orchid dottyback, or such like. I want something to take the eye into the water column now, whereas in the D-D nano I was concentrating on rock based fish to draw your eye into the scaping thus leaving the water column for the clowns :D

Suggestions for fish would be appreciated.

Oh dear, that certainly does not sound good.

I am sure they will be happy without the shrimp, rather then cause WW3 in there.

royal grammer
Bangai cardinal
pinkfire fish
purple fire fish
6 line wrasse
Filamented Flasher Wrasse
Longfin Fairy Wrasse
coral beauty
chalk bass

regards sc0tt

royal gramma - my first choice :D
Filamented Flasher Wrasse - I love these but the OH didn't and they are jumpers so not such a good idea in an open top tank.
Longfin Fairy Wrasse - same with these guys and the firefish.
coral beauty - nice but can nip lps corals I do believe?
chalk bass - I like these guys.
I prefer the pyjama cardinals to the banggai but am thinking of something a little more active.

Good selection though, thanks :D
