suggestions welcomed with open arms.

Looking gfood so far, does that wood just slot off the top then? if so should be easy to restore and make it the same as your cabinet colour :)

the wood is stuck on with silicone but it wont be a problem, my main things to do are

1. get rid of all that silver spray rubbish and restore the wood
2. scrape the blue paint off the back and replace with a nice planted background
3. get more plants then humanly possible
4. more drift wood
4 1/2. more rocks
5. sit back and enjoy

Nice tank! I'm sure it'll be stunning when you're done with it. Um, it looks like both ends of the tank are extended past the cabinet/stand, that kinda worries me.

there is a 1.75 inch overhang on both sides, anything over 2 inches and i wouldnt have done it.

I agree. first thing I noticed. By overhanging the tank walls, your placing shear stress on the glass that intersects the edge of the table. And incase you have never noticed, glass is very brittle all together, and especially weak in shear. Would look into purchasing or building a new stand for the tank :good:

yo dude thats a sweet tank XD
i wish i could afford a tank that big

its supprising how many people give tanks these sizes away because they dont have the space to keep them.
if ur in the uk check out your local freecycle group.

i need some more driftwood first and some nice easy to keep plants if anyone can give me some suggestions it would be greatly appreciated.
untill i get comfortable with the whole CO2 process i want to have some easy to keep plants

as for stocking another 3 mabey even 4 clown loaches for definate, another angel, more neons and glowlights, and another female krib unless my current one gets her breeding head on. oh i added a random assortment of plattys and guppies aswell yesterday

im still in limbo on what plants to get, im gonna go mad on payday down my LFS lol
also i should be getting a pair of OP gouramis as well would they be ok in my tank with my current stock? i have read up on them but there is so much contradicting info.

in there so far is

2 x krib (possibily another pair so could be 4 x)
2 x feather fin syno
3 x neon tetra
6 x glowlight tetra
clown loach (soon to be 4 x clown loach)
2 x angel
aprox 6 x guppies
aprox 8 x plattys

i tryed my hand at "stain & grain" today i think it was ment to be limed oak but it's still a massive improvement on how it looked, there is actually a grain on the wood but the cam couldnt pick it up properly. all i need now is some edging for the bottom.
