I Just Had To Have Them

I also place small pieces of slate directly under and around the base of the filter intake to assist in prevent a blockage. They look great, here's hoping they will settle and breed for you.

I picked up a load of sand yesterday.  I'm just washing it through now and intend to change the substrate after Christmas. :)

how deep can these fish dig through sand? more than 2.5cm/1inch?

Cories will dig down about 1/4-1/2 inch at most.  They just sort of stuff their faces in.  My BN pleco dug out as deep as he wished.  He just swishes his tail around and moves the dig as much as he wants.

Mine too ... I often see a huge cloud of muck and sand and trumpet snails flying across the tank cos he's under his wood 'sweeping it out'.

Well it's done.

The sand is in and they're loving it.  I have a BN in there as well by the way :) and I've added in my Panda cories.  I'll get some pics up when I get a moment.

This substrate brings out the colour in the Orange Lasers far better than the dark substrate I had before.  I'm very pleased with the look of the tank.

Mine mature male shifts pea sized gravel that way.

Last lot of fry he raised I found a bit of zuccchini half the size of him stuffed in his cave so the fry had something to eat. And no it couldn’t have got in the cave any other way the male had to put it in there.

looking forward to see the photo's :D

My corys are still exploring the tank, I get the feeling they love all the plants they seem to spend all their time in them.

I've got to pick up more plants for that tank now you mention it.  Might just do that on the way home :)

all my fish love the plants. They all retreat into them when at rest. I've planted around the back and sides and left a clear area in the middle - this is where the food falls for the bottom dwellers and they all know now when they hear the lid open to come to the middle and wait for food to arrive!

More photo's Far_King. I'd love to see a wide angle shot of the whole tank :)

Yes Yes more photos.

looks great. I love that lump of wood
