Yes, I am. They could eventually start really wanting to breed with her, and stress her out very much. A stressed out fish isn't a happy one, and they can be more prone to disease. I think for the sake of her, take her back, or get more females.

I never new I would get so attached to a fish - realise am being a bit of sad case but I am sure as another fish lover you understand. What a dilemma - so if I got 2 more females would that solve the hassling problem but then run the risk of having babies galore?

You might need more then 2, because that's only one female per male. It's best to have at least 2 per male. And yes, you will be totally over-run with fry...unless you let the parents eat them. And even then, you could still be over-run. Hard decision...but seeing as I've had tons of fry, and know the problems with being over-run, I'd take back the female. I know it's a hard decision, I've been through it. :(

if u dont fry then you would be best off getting rid of the female. as the others have said she will get too stressed out from the males. if u dont mind the fry then you would need to get atleast 5 more females but that would leave the tank very filled up.

Thank you all so much for your advice and time. I think I will be saying goodbye to Marge by the sounds of things (tear in my eye) - so the conclusion of this posting will be that - (please feel free to correct me if I am wrong):
1. Take Marge back
2. Do water changes without adding more salt
3. Get other livebearers/tropicals not necessarily brackish

Does that sound right?

Yes. Sounds right to me. If you do get other Livebearers, I suggest one sex to avoid tons of fry. I think Tetras or Rasboras, and Cories would be nice with your Mollies. But that's just me.

So Sorry you had to give up Marge...but it's the best for her! She'll be thanking you she doesn't have to get picked on by those boys. :D

Thank goodness for this forum - better advice than any spotty kid working in a LFS! I think I will be getting a couple of guppies next - male/female? Its all so confusing :S

Guppies? I'd say all male, but I worry your Mollies might be aggressive with them and their tails. I wouldn't get male and female Guppies, because they have fry like there is no tomorrow! Male Platies could be nice though...it all depends how aggressive your Mollies turn out to be, though.

Cories would be a pretty safe bet, seeing as they don't occupy the same level. But all the salt has to be out of the water first. :)

Platies are a great choice. i have never had problems with a group of male platies. they all seem to mind their own business.

Oh, so do I not qualify then...wouldn't want me working there, huh? :-(

No, just kidding. :p I couldn't work at my fish store anyway, I'd end up bringing home way too many fish. They already have very knowledgable employees too.
