I have a 1.5 gallon tank and I wondered what fish I could have in it.

I have a spare 1.5gallon or 5l tank lying around and I wanted to use it. I was not sure what fish to keep in it, could any one give me some suggestions?

shrimp only.
that's if you can keep it cycled...anything smaller than 5 gallons is pretty difficult to keep cycled and maintain consistent parameters.

If I use a filter, and do water changes often, would they sur? And how often should I feed the and do water changes?

shrimp are very delicate and susceptible to even the smallest inconsistencies in the water parameters and trying to keep a tank that tiny cycled and consistent is very very difficult.
(oh and yes I'd get a tiny heater and filter...not sure which for something so small....just google that information or maybe make a new post on suggestions here)

The first thing you'd have to do is read up on the Nitrogen Cycle.
There is a great post here on how to do it correctly.
Follow it to the T and wait...
It takes quite a few weeks/months.

Once the tank is cycled I'd put some live plants and wood in the tank and give them a while to settle ...always checking the parameters to make sure things remain consistent.

I'd start with a few cherry shrimp as they are the cheapest and easiest to get.
With any luck you'll have survivors and then if they breed, you'll have an even better chance if their babies are born into your tank...they'll be a little stronger in your parameters.

It will be a tricky road ahead with the tank size but I suppose it's doable with much research.

Hi

Sorry to say this but your tank is too small for any live stock, I have coffee cups that are bigger,

Shrimp should only be added to a mature tank, by mature I mean about 3 months after the cycle is finished.
