I think hate is a very strong word.
Although I however hate Hybrid fish.

As for Betta's, I don't hate them, I just think that it is very unattractive when they are kept in tiny little cups, with their fins all folded up. I'm sure they must look a lot nicer when loose in a tank. :)

Excuse me? :S How can you think that? No comment.

Just kidding, its your opinion. I love bettas. But, Why would you think they are so bad? :dunno: I hate guppies, platies, mollies, angelfish, sword tails and goldfish. I am so glad I got to let that out. :D

Hate is a bit strong isn't it? Especially when people seem to love them so much.

They don't do it for me personally, although Treefrog's BOTM noination is fantasticly gorgeous! So is freshwatergal's, maybe I just like the more unusually coloured ones.

What do you think?
i hate people from ontario, really! to me they are slow and inactive
what do you think?

How rude, hate is a very strong word, you obviously have never kept bettas for too long since you refer to them as inactive.

I guess I could say I hate barbs....that wouldn't be fair since I've never kept them but they really are unappealling and 'cheap' looking fish IMO

Beta's are beautiful fish especially the male with their long flowing fins, and a for being inactive, I had one and it did nothing but swim across the front of my tanks... lovely fish!

there are many different kinds of betta out there. they don't call them a fighting fish for nothing you know. the word plakat is thai and means "biting fish". i read that they have something like the second most agressive attack in the whole animal kingdom. i don't know many other fish that flair and intimidate like some of my short-tail fighters.

I like female bettas only for some reason. They can be kept in groups and in a community aquarium.

Have you ever kept any?

They are very active fish, they may not be the fastest fish in the tank but they will certainly wiz about then they see you in the room and want attention.

Keeping them in a small tank is IMHOP wrong and if you have seen them in that condition then perhaps I can understand your POV but having seen them in large tanks they are realy active fish and very freindly.

Well my betta is not very fast, and swims kind of clumsily, but he is certainly not inactive, he is always swiming among the plants, or at the top looking for food, or chasing around the guppies. I think they are usually not active because of the environment they are provided with.

This is obviously a troll to get a rise out of people. Simply ignore trolls.
