just got home asfter swimming and decided to look out of my window at me new ubove ground pond. then i noticed one of the goldies i bought earlier today was on the floor so i rushed out and seen he was still gasping so slowly and carefully pickhim up and held him in the water. luckily he swim off under a stone ornament but now has joing the others.

made a temporary net out of an old fishing net (how ironic and a bed sheet) hoping the fishg shop is open tomorrow to buy a proper net for it.

really scared me seeing the fish on the floor  :(

aww sorry to hear that hope its ok and itl be god to get a bet to keep birds etc away aswell

that was a close call. good idea about the netting, maybe lowering the water level too might help.

i know i had a talk with my dad earlier he said get a net and i said yeah next time i go but he said go get one today wish i had now.

out of the year i have kept fish the last two days have been pants. some times fish keeping is so testing.

yesterday 1 of my WCMM jumped i put him back in and he seemed ok but he was dead this morning. now my new goldie has jumped

fingers crossed he will be ok

lowered the water by an inch but one half is now covered by a net and the other half by an old bed sheet this is temp untill monday as my mum has just told me the fish shop is closed on sundays

test the water just in case theres a probelm there.

you never know maybe he saw a fly

ended up buying from that link World of water emailed me to say £22 delivery charge on a net  , they delivered a pond last week to me for £4.99 delivery

Fish don't generally jump when they're happy and content in their environment, obviously theres the odd free willy fish that likes to jump but its rare. Low dissolved oxygen levels are a common cause especailly in fish like Orfe and Rudd, cramped conditions, stress and unstable water parameters all cause jumping.

Good luck

thanks.

the water was right up to the brim of the tank (above water) the fish is now happy as larry

the water params are good not sure on temp though as it is 60f but i cant do anything about that
