I Dont Think He Will Survive :(

a clown is fine on it's own

now you have one in there you face the risk of aggression if another is added

best bets to avoid this if you do buy another are to rescape the tank just before you add it and to buy one much smaller / bigger than the current one so there is no question of which is the dominant one

got to say i disagree, if they are young clowns they will be very accepting of other clownfish as they havent started working out the power tower yet.

I'd agree with sorgan from experience as I introduced a clown to a young clown with no rescape and all went well

I did think if I got a small of same type it would be ok but wasnt going to argue as I dont know much :)

Thanks all

I rang today and they have't discussed it yet so waiting for a call. So annoyed

Did you go down at all, Weezawoo? Most places have a 48 hour guarantee so it might be worth going as soon as possible, or freezing the fish so it doesn't rot in the mean time if you're going to try and get a replacement or store credit. You could always use the store credit for dry goods and buy the Clown from somewhere else.

I went yesterday with the fish and water. They tested water and all fine. He said he needed to talk to Mark the guy who owns it so come back today
Work has been mental so couldnt go down but rang and Dave hadnt even talked to Mark about it so I said can you call me. If I don't hear by end of the day I may have to come town tomorrow

I introduced a small clown with a larger one and after a tiny period where they chased each other around the tank, now they're inseparable and beginning to host with my Xenia.

well you actually agreed with me... you added a fish a different size to the other one, there was a short power struggle and then it was peaceful

had they both been the same size there would have been more a battle for dominance

I wasn't disagreeing with you btw :) I wouldn't go and buy a bigger one. If they offer me another though what do you all think, do I take one or return the current one and get a different 2 later? I am attached to the one I have! lol

How small is the clown, if a tiny juvie just buy another tiny juvie, if a bit bigger, buy a tiny juvie....... are you sensing a theme here :p

I do agree that one clown is perfectly fine, however you would miss out on all the relationship building, choosing who is going to be dominant type behaviours, which i think are fasinating

He is small, will get a rough size later. I will make sure I get a good one this time hopefully they still have some.

I feel sorry for this tiny little clown in a 6 foot tank on his own!

Lol. In terms of size I bet it's like placing a baby on a football field!
