im to scared to grab them out for cleaning..it afraid riping their tails or making them jump out..iv touch them on the head and i admit to accidently hitting buddy when showing him were his food is

i stoped when he got the eye problem jsut the net is soo hard to manover in the tank it bugs me lol. Ive gotten in troble soo much for putting the fish in drinking cups while i was doing water changes lol/

I wash my hands real good with anti bacterial soap, then rinse them real good, then stick my hand in my female community and they swim between my fingers and rub up against them. Little cuties.

also our body temp is alot hotter than theirs and we can burn them when we touch them

internally, yes we are hotter than them. Our innards are about 98 degrees. But our skin is about room temperature, same as, if not cooler than the water in our tanks.

And handling them is no worse than using nets. The nets can pull their slimecoat off, unless you do what I do and use those fry catching nylon nets that are super soft.

thanks for all the replys (been gone to a show i had to work) well see micheal again with the obvious responses!!! if our skin was as hott as our temp we couldnt even stick our hands in the tanks we would almost burn ourselves mind you that!

Congrats on getting over the fear, dandy! I've never been afraid to touch anything, even though I don't exactly enjoy handling certain bugs... June bugs, bleh!
I use one of those tiny nylon nets to scoop my bettas up with since I'm afraid I'll smash them with my hand, but when it's time to move them back from the holding cup into their tanks I pour them into my hand to avoid putting old water back in the tank... they don't seem to mind

I dont have a problem touching bugs and stuff, i just dont like to touch my fish. I am scurd I'll hurt them, but not scurd to touch them. See what I mean now?

im not afraid of touching my fish, i just nvr found it nesissary to touch them, i userally just dump em in congrats thogh, i do remember you saying something before about being afraid of touch in fish

i have always been afraid! well not really afraid seeing as how i used to handle fish when i was little... just a wee-bit scared now that i have became a lady so to speak
