well it's more like THEy did it :D finally, after two days of struggling with them, thinking that i must have messed up somewhere..thinking that maybe my betats were infertle :D after 2 longggg days theyare finally embracing!!!

it's not a very big spawn, the female is only releasing about 5 eggs per wrap, but they are both diligently picking them up (and hoepuflly spitting them back out inot the nest) :D :D :D speical thanks to all the ppl that helped me out the last 2 days :D ( u know how you are) :D it's been quite the ride for me :D

 wish me luck on the rest of the way, this is my VERY first spawn :D i still gotta have the eggs hatch...raise em...*sigh* but never give up on them! i was JUST about to go and remove the feamle, adn then i saw htem embracing!! i almost freaked and started screaming

now i see what all the talk is about ^^ good luck on everyone else's spawn :D

i got a pic of the pair for anyone that's interested :D tell me hwat you think the babies will look like :

tehse are old pics, some of you guys have porbably seen it before (i posted it in the pictures section :*)) they are adorable, i hope i get babies!

thanks guys :D i think theyr'e done embracing now (after 3 hours), i removed the feamle, boy is she tattered or WHAT  ripped fins..lets just say she looks bad lol. Sadly i don't have another tank around, i plan to put her in a container in the 25G (where her sisters are) and let her recover for a few days with melafix and all that stuff.

Wish me luck with daddy and the fry, i ruined a smlal small part of his nest while trying to scoop the feamle out  hopeuflly he will tend to that properly.

Hi cutecotton :)

Congratulations and best of luck raising the fry. The parents are a very handsome pair indeed.

hi :D htanks for teh congrats guys :D mommy is now sepereate and she is nursing all her torn fins, i owe her a nice big meal of forzen bloodworms and all sorts of other goodies :D

dad is still guarding the nest :) i'm too scared to approach him, so i'm only checking on him every few hours, i don't think he'll eat any of the eggs though. If you have any tips on what to feed the fry, tell me :D any suggestions are more than welcome !

coconut: yes he is a veitail :D but has the loveliest colors!

Congratulations!!! I know how exciting it is :) The eggs that dropped when you took the female out should be fine, he should recollect them and continue to work on the bubblenest.

I imagine you'll have a mix of white and red babies, going with what the parents look like, but with Betta Genetics, you never really know, especially since you don't know their backgrounds.

I hope you have those baby food cultures going (Microworms, Vinegar Eels, BBS).

I hope they hatch and grow up to be happy healthy adults :)

thanks guys :D i knowlive food would be the best for hte babies, but i can't get a hold of anything here -_-, none of my lfs has htem, and i don't like to order things online :*)

i can, however get my own BBS hatchery going, so i think that will be good. I plan to use liquidfry for the first week and then swtich to live BBS near the end of the first week. Then i will mix in some frozen stuff (got some frozen bloodworms) and go on from there :) if anyone has like a feeding schedule of when to feed what to betta fry i would be very thankful :D ie..something that can tell me what they eat in the first week, 2nd week, 3rd week..etc? maybe someone else that has bred betats will know :)

thanks again :D

Congrats!! I can only imagine how exciting that must be :D

The female is gorgeous :) The male's markings are great as well.
