I Couldn't Help It!

As Promised...
These pictures were taken right after a partial water change, so as you can see, Leckles is a bit grumpy and not very photogenic.

This is his other side. All I ever post is the bad side.

And this one really shows off his dorsal fin.

These are before and after pictures.
There is no side fin and the dorsal fun just looks bad.

Aww X) He's looking much happier now! Good luck to him, I hope he grows them fully. Then you'll have a fish to show and tell the story of to who ever will check out your tank, cause that fish sure has quite a story now.
But yours at least sits still when you try to photograph him. My catfish just roams along the glass like a playful puppy when he sees the phone or when I get closer to the tank.

He is officially moved in to my main tank and has found a new home away from the tiger barbs. :D
He does come out though to play.
Thanks Everyone for their help with this little guy.

How are his fins doing? Healing up good I hope!! There needs to be more people willing to rescue battered fish!

Ha ha X) He's peeking from inside there. So cute! His eyes seem blue.

Yeah My roommate and I are keeping an eye out for other fish that need a home to survive in momentary. I got lucky with leckles that he can /somewhat/ survive in my tank even though he supposedly can't live with Tiger barbs. (They dont even pay attention to him, they do their own thing.
his Fins are growing like weeds. I think it may be an awkward fin by the way it is growing. He isn't growing the main ray yet, but the rest is working on it. In the earlier pictures you can see that there is a little backwards "L" shape growing. it has gotten bigger and his front fin also has gotten bigger.

His eyes are red. Cool, right? They look blue in that picture because it was the clear part of the eye which it was shinning through. They are like a crimson red.

I tried to save a cory once. He was in a tank with guppies and he had almost no fins. When i requested to adopt him they refused because he was "defective." I argued and argued but in the end, they through him in the trash. I never went back to that lfs.

REALLY? They threw him in the trash can? Thats terrible. They are in for the money, not the pets or the happiness of the customers. Honestly if I ran a pet store, heck, if I even was the guy at walmart who sold me Leckles, and a fish of mine was dying and some kid wanted to /try/ to save it, I would give the pet for free. Better than suffering in a cage, infecting all the other fish, and getting drowned in a trashcan.
That is messed up. Terrible thing for anyone to witness.

Wow, red? O.O I saw them somewhat yellow from most pics.

Hmm I don't think the guppies could do that to a catfish unless it was really ill. But -.- poor bunny fish, why throw it when they can at least give him to someone. Did you offer to pay for him?

yeah they are red. I can see how they look yellow in the pictures. I'll have to find a way to get a picture of that without blinding him. His eyes are super reflective, so that may be where the yellow tint is coming from.

Our LFS is awesome for that, the last time we went looking for Platinum Angels they only had 2 left, one normal and one very small one missing his front feeler things (are they tendrels?) and had very ravaged looking fins as they had been nibbled off. We asked for both as we didn't want to leave the lil one on his own, they informed us that they didn't know how much damage was done and they couldn't gaurantee him but they would chuck him in for free...3 months on and they are both doing splendid, his fins have grown back and he has little nubby bits where his feeler things are starting to grow back...he's still on the small side and I think he always will be but he is happy enough and I'm glad we gave the lil guy a chance!

Any updates on Leckles? How are his fins?

HIS DORSAL FIN IS GOING TO GROW BACK!!!!!

It is so huge already, it still looks slightly awkward and in an "L" shape rather than a triangle. I can't get pictures, he is still really shy. I only see him briefly before I turn on my lamp to wake up the other fishies and maybe twice other than that. I took out the thing he is hiding in in the picture above. I was worried that he'd somehow get stuck up there. (I know I worry too much, but I also have found dead fishies up there so, it was about time.)

His other fins are 100% grown back. I can't even tell which ones were gone. It makes me so sad to see the old pictures of him. I went back to walmart to complain or do something, I dont know why I was there honestly, but they had moved all the featherfins to their own cubical and there weren't even tags for other types of fish. I was so happy. I left a sticky note thanking the guy.

He probably thinks I am insane.
"THANK YOU!
Thank you thank you thank you.
I am so glad that you moved
them into their own home.
THANK YOU!
Love, two teenaged-girls who bought the broken featherfined catfish.
P.s. He is still alive!"
