Yeah, did it, but had to use img code link and delete some of the line before it would work this bit from each end!! http//..[img].

Thanks guys for all your help. In this pic you can see the gold iridiscent sheen on him. :D

Thanks, T, I will try that again later. Not sure what you meant by the last sentence? I'm assuming you meant improper conditions (as he was in the shop), lol.

If not, let me know exactly what I'm doing wrong and I will try to correct it :)

Regards,

Nikki :)

Oooops I was gonna say I hate seeing them being kept in the wrong conditions and then decided to write I LIKE seeing them kept in proper conditions...guess I got a little mixed up deleting text

LOL, ~T~, no problem, I kinda figured it was a typo, but thought I'd double check as I'm new to fishkeeping so I've a lot to learn and I'm always willing to hear peoples' advice  and I'm pleased that people feel able to give their opinions :)

My Guppies have become so brave that they steal his bloodworms out from right under his nose!!! I'll have to try a get a photo of it. They are not frightened of him at all, not even the tiny ones.

I came down this morning and he's completely rearranged the landscape within the tank....the sand is piled up about 6 inches on one side of the tank, whilst the other side is about 4 inches high and the middle of the tank is now only about 1/2 inch deep!! Most of the plants are now half buried in the sand and the ornaments are covered in a thick layer of sand.

I'm sure it will be different again tonight, lmao.

I was late feeding him last night and he was searching the tank for it, so I'm guessing that he has become used to the regular times that I usually feed him. :D

Whats this I hear about growing algae on rocks for them to graze on? Or maybe it was another fish or I just imagined it

Yeah, they use their sharp teeth to scrape the algae off of the rocks, etc. The diet I'm currently feeding him consists of bloodworm, daphnia, algae wafers, brine shrimp and whatever else he filters out of the water! Most of the time the food is frozen (except ofr the wafers) but once a week he gets live food (shrimp or worms) which he seems to enjoy :)

When the large tank comes I intend to have the decor fairly natural and will let the algae grow on the rocks, etc for the fish to graze on.

He climbed halfway up the side of the tank today and just kinda stayed there for a bit.....I think he thinks that he's hidden from view by the filter (he's down the side of it) but it's actually quite a good way to view him, plus being very poor sighted you can get up close without scaring him off.

Nikki :)

They are practically blind. Do keep your eyes peeled at the DIY store next time you're about for some PVC tube of suitable width that's semi-opaque. My guess is he'll happily lurk in there (they like PVC tubes) but being semi-opaque, you'd still be able to watch your goby easily.

Cheers, Neale

For mine I've used some 32MM PVC (had some lying around for my 270gal pipework) cut into lengths and stuck some slate on top with silicone to cover them.
However, he has chosen to hide mostly in the gap between the slate and pvc lol, so I would recommend 22-25mm tubing to encourage him to go into them.
I cut the pvc just smaller than him, that way I can always see where he's at!
