How to get rid of fine particles ?

Also why does it have to be thrown out each time just curious does it fall apart or something?.
Nope, I just replace it, it won't fall apart, but if anything is going to clog an cause flood, it is the batting. Cheap insurance to change each week.

Added: The particles are so fine, it would be hard to reuse, kinda like reusing coffee filters.
