Our LFS finally got some panda cories in yesterday. Rushed to get them because they're usually out in a couple of days (from high sales, I hope!). Ended up getting three.

We floated the bag in the tank for about 45 minutes. The pH of the bag's water was 6.4 and our water is 7.1, so needed to acclimatize the pandas to our water. Brought out the old betta container (those tiny ones from Petco). Put all three pandas in here with their old water, floating this in the tank instead of the bag.

Then we emptied a bit of the bag water out of the betta container via siphon action with small air tubing. Put just a bit of our own water in the container by pushing it down until the sides were just under the surface of the tank water (picture pushing an empty bowl straight down and under water). Did this carefully, of course.

Did this about 2 or 3 times. Then come back, only two panda cories. Not three. EEEEEP!

Looked in the tank... no where. Looked all around the floor infront of the tank... no where. Figured one of our cats got to it first... sad. But then we say a cute litle black and white face staring at us from the tank. It had jumped out of the betta bowl and into the tank!!! What a bad-ass.

Anyways just thought I'd share my experience so others are sure to keep their pandas covered when acclimatizing. Im sure you all do, though.

Those panda corys are feisty little fish! Mine are always zipping around, bouncing off stuff and swimming along the sides of the tank. They're so playful! :D
