I found a 90 gal tank 48" 18" 24". No hood, basic Home made stand, With 10 gal hospital tank. For $100. It was used for turtles for a few years. Holds water.

Deal or no deal? :fish:

One other question why don't I ever see white aquarium stands? They are always black or wood.

i'd say it's a pretty decent deal as long as the stand is good. My friend just bought a 90 with the metal stand and glass canopies for $75, but that was a really good find. You can just paint your stand white if you really want to but it will probably just get dirty.

Seems like a deal, its usually $1 a gallon here. However when setting up such a large tank, I would be curious how old it is, does it have a brace on top, and the condition of the seals.

What do you think of the stand? I think I might need to be reenforce it and put up some sides to hide my filter and crap.
The guy said it was filled 2/3 With lots of sand and it worked well. I'm going to check it out today.

instead of paying an extra 25 for the stand i would just buy my own metal stand for like $75

I talked to the guy he will throw it in the deal no extra charge. Really a metal stand? Do they make them for large tanks?

I got the tank. The stand is very sturdy and the guy took $80 for it. So yippy now I have to sell the 55Gal because my husband thinks one 36 gal tank and a 90 gal tank is more then enough.

Hi there,i'm glad you are happy with your new tank :D Why don't you use fablon to cover the stand, you can get fablon in most large diy stores in a huge range of colours and effects, infact i would search ebay, and although it would maybe be a wee bit more than painting the stand,it will be much more durable and will look fantastic.

yes they do make metal stands for tanks that large but it seems you got a great deal as it is, so nvm.

mmm well the stand is fine but I took a close look and the silicone has been pretty beat up by the turtles in spots. But it still holds water no leaks. Should I worry? Should I reseal it? or if it holds water its ok. Or could I just put some silicone over the areas that are damaged?

I have no idea if you can just put some new sealant over the damaged areas.... dunno why not? *shrugs*
Great deal though! Never see any deals like that around here.

I would reseal it personally. Can't risk it with so much water...

Yeah that's what I was thinking. I mean it still holds water but there are areas that are pretty chewed up. Will that affect the tank in the long run?
