A 4 foot tank is somewhere in the region of 55 gallons roughly. Perhaps a bit more if it is tall as well as long.

what make was it?
the rio/roma 240 is possibly the most common 4 foot tank sold in the UK Imo and that is 63 USG

The smallest and most common 4ft tanks are usually 55, which is what I think you have.

correct my rio 240 is 63 USG. slang is annoying mate, plus use the aquarium calculator on this site. its a bit like saying whats the area of my garden, without giving any measurements, how do we know.
your tank could be 4ft by 1ft by 1ft or 4ft by 20ft by 20ft. after all it is still a 4ft tank.
