I would suggest consulting with one of your Game Wardens. They are trained in this and can explain why it’s not a good idea.

I doubt a game warden would care unless the OP is planning to release the goldfish into the wild or use them as bait.

I meant because Game Warden’s are trained in fish husbandry and OP says he is a Park Ranger. So there’s always a GM around him.

Goldfish are poor quality food for other creatures. They also carry a heap of diseases that can be transferred to the fish that eats the goldfish.

You are better off using white bait and blue sardine, as well as prawns/ shrimp and even squid. You can buy all these as frozen bait from a fishing store or from the freezer in the seafood section at the supermarket.

I hate the idea of feeding anything feeder fish. There are lots of other alternatives which are better than that.

I wouldn’t be able to raise fish to feed live to a turtle, as said will they not eat cut diced frozen?
