How Many Fish Are Kept By The Tff Collectively?

4 Siamese Fighting fish
2 Zebra danios (would buy more, but there is a strange disease that kills them all >(
1 Bronze cory cat (need to get more)
1 Platy
1 White Cloud (will get more)

Running Total:

7929

squigle 2000, should it not be 8092?

My Fish currently: 73

Running Total: 8165

Let's see here then.

188 posts, 8166 fish to date. So, that's an average 43.43617 fish per poster. Assuming that the average poster in this thread represents the average forum member, and with 31817 members as of a few seconds ago -- 43.43617*31817 = 1 382 009 fish kept by TFF collectively. That's a lot of fish!

Now, is the total higher than that because not every post here was actually total of all the fish by each person -- there were several posts just updating or remembering fish that were missed the first count -- or it the total lower because the average TFF member didn't reply to this thread and doesn't have 43 fish?

Lets hope everyone is being honest here lol!!! When you are doing your calculations, must remember that quite a few people that are members have not been active for a long time, having said that, with all the active members, there must be a colossal amount of fished owned by us all. I suppose it would be impossible to get a true number.

With all these 8000+ fish, theres obviously some of us members that keep fish that are on the endangered species or near extinct list. I wonder what difference we could make if some of us did something about it, breed the fish and released them. I know this would be more difficult than it sounds (considering the changes in fishes environment that we keep them in and global warming etc). Food for thought I suppose!!!

EDIT (Hope i'm not sounding to dumb or hippyish).

lol nice post bignose. Its pretty safe to assume that the members of this forum active or not keep over a million individual fish! That is a lot.
