3 days is absolute rubbish. But yes it would only take as long as usual. However cycling isn't an exact thing. You cycle for the amount of fish you want to initially stock with. If you wanted to put 2 ro 3 danios in there then it'd be instant... near enough.

If you wanted to stick the stocking in it that it has at the moment, I'd estimate 8 weeks or so.

General pet shops (as a rule) aren't to be trusted. Take anything they say with a pinch of salt, assume it is incorrect and find out if it's correct before following it. From what you said then and having read your other posts I'd say it seems to be a pretty bad pet shop with regards to fish. Always remember that you don't need to know about fish to sell them.

Sometimes you'll find good dedicated fish shops which give decent advice, but I'd stick to asking people on forums like this.
