Yes there are dwarf breeds, or at least ones that stay small naturally. There's a list of the most common ones here

You can look them up on Planet catfish and see if any of them match yours. If they don't then it's likely you have a tank buster! If they do then congratulations

If you can't see them on planet catfish you could take a photo or 2 and post them here. We have some members who are pretty good at spotting what's what (I myself am useless and am still getting the hang of it. I actually took photos from Planet catfish into the LFS when I went to get my pitbulls! )

Even Pitbulls? Mine are in a 20G but I would have thought that a 2" plec would be fine in a 10G.
