How Do You Name Your Fish?

hi, i was wondering how you guys name your fish, as i have many unnamed fish
pick top 1-3 options

I voted #1, #2, and #4.

Usually I name a fish spontaneously, but other times, it takes me a while to find a suitable name for them.

For example: I knew what I was going to name my second Betta, before I ever bought it. However, I am still thinking of a name for my new clownfish.

Sometimes I name after things that happened in my life, or somethings I name after their coloration/personally. It just depends.

I've never named a fish, although some of them do have names.

I leave those important decisions to my sisters two kids, aged 7 and 4. For the sake of example, there is a particularly large black neon called pingu, and a platy named cheesy.

It’s almost impossible to tell my schooling fish apart, so I usually just call them “Lé Gang”.

I only name the fish I can specifically tell apart. (e.i. Pleco, Betta, Clownfish, etc.)

I don't ask how the 7 year old tells them apart, but she is adamant that she can identify all 20 of the ember tetra in one of my tanks. I call BS, but I'm too polite to tell her that. Haha

i call the cories "monkey gang"

I have a neon tetra that I named captain, like a pirate. The other day one of the other tetras, or the betta in the tank took his eye out during feeding. That’s the only reason I’ll name a fish, if something noticeable happens to them.
