how come my fish are starting to eat my plants. 1 plant has been half shreaded already

its the 6 tiger barbs alway hang out in that corner i have also seen my bala sharks take a few bites

My tigers don't eat my plants now but they used to, now they are not easily eaten.

I think balas are herbivores and so would love to eat them. You might have to get stronger plants.

maybe i should put the plastic plants back in there
nobody ever tried to eat them

Nah, you could get plants that they can't eat. If you look at the 160l tank in my sig, I have t barbs in there and there's lots of plants. They certainly couldn't eat the ones in my 68l (Hillstream) tank!!

There are ways, do not give up!! Live plants are worth it.

Strangely enough, my 3 Spot Gouramis like to nibble on my plant leaves even though they are well fed with variety flakes and mosquito larvae.

what type are the plants that the bala sharks can't eat called(those of you that can remember my last post I got 3 now). two of the plants i got in there now are white butterfly (syngonium) and Rotala indica. looking at cheese specialist pic, wow wish my 200G would look that good, but im slowly getting there.

Thanks

The plants I have came form java.co.uk/com (not sure which). They were £10 for all of them and they did both my cube and my 4ft tank.

I'll try to look up what it is that I have if you like.

By the way, I am a total plant novice and these seem to be doing well. :) You can see on the pics especially of the 160l (4ft) tank that I have been updating them so you can see how they are growing.

im a plant novice too, about a month ago i read that live plants are better for the aquarium than fake once. no need to look up any plants for me. i just wait till they strip down the plants they eat and get some totally different plant (hope they don't get sick eating them) unless there is any better sollution. one more question is how do you get to list all your fish at the bottom of the post

i find if i offer plenty of veggies mine don't eat the plants quite so bad. and tougher leafed plants like amazon swords don't seem to get eaten quite as much either.
