Hotter Weather = Hotter Tank.

 I feel like you all are rubbing your "hot" weather in my face. We should be gaining on 100 degrees within the next few weeks and it won't drop under until September.

But just to get you back...Me and the kiddies are all getting bathing suits on to go splash around outside! so :p
If those 100 degrees were in Celsius, I'd be digging up a bunker area under ground.

I'm in the deep south too....of the UK; one of the lucky ones with a huge cooling pool called the English Channel!

A high temperature, whether expressed in degrees C or degrees F is a problem for many of us. I choose to simply ignore anything that would require me to cool a tank to a temperature lower than I use for human comfort in the same space. I am ready to bet that others do not agree with me. So be it. I am not willing to use air conditioning simply for my fish. That is a simple statement of fact. If the tank temperatures required are just so low that I cannot justify the same temperature as a person, maybe I should not keep those fish. There are indeed fish that not only tolerate but thrive in temperatures that I find unacceptable as person. Those fish are not my main concern with my fish. Instead I find that cooling and heating needs that I find acceptable as a person are right for fish that I am willing to keep.

My air conditioning is used for my own comfort, not the fish! It just so happens my fish thrive in temps i'm most comfortable with.

I for one hate fluctuating temperatures and believe stability is the key for fish or humans.

Dean.
