I like the iced bottles idea of sadguppy's; presently ramming as many rum and cokes down my throat as I can so I can get some bottles emptied for freezing some water in hic

I like your idea, however I'm a beer girl & cans wouldn't work
sadguppy i have ac in my apartment, nottingham city centre.with summer here the general air temp gets warmer so hence does the tanks, our room where my 55gal tank is, gets really hot sometimes high 30's C how do i keep the tank cool apart from water changes everyday!!
Turn up your a/c
I run my aquarium at 25.5c and with the hotter weather it's risen to 26.5., but i'm using LED lighting so that helps.

A/C? In the UK? Hmmm... But a pipe dream my friend!
I live in one and it's only 20 degrees inside, but 27 outsideBuy a Victorian house, no A/C required.
My grandma has a house made of clay and inside, temp can be as low as 25C while outside it's over 35C. But at night, you start wishing you had a heater. Tough luck installing one of those, my grandpa thinks that anything will make his light bill skyrocket (yet he pays so little to it that it makes me wonder what he spends the rest of his money on. Definitely not alcohol, he MAKES it).I live in one and it's only 20 degrees inside, but 27 outsideBuy a Victorian house, no A/C required.

OK I concede that it may be present in some places but it is by no means the norm, not in houses or anything older than a few years. Maybe in new apartments but never lived in one so wouldn't know... I wish I had it on nights like last night but an open window is as high tech as it gets for me!
The heater's only purpose is in his name. It's to heat, not to cool. To maintain a temperature higher than the room temperature or equal. My recommendation would be to possibly float a small frozen or cold water bottle in the tank, and watch the temperature closely.turn heater down?
