I'm looking to organize a holiday for a week in Japan for spring leaving from London.

I've had a quick look and tickets + hotel would come to approx £1000 per person.

I've had a thought that if we make it a larger group the airline and hotel might lower the price.

Would anyone be interested? Before I get the ball rolling I'm just polling for general interest in the idea
A larger group does not mean we'd actually do anything as a group, it just means we'd be flying on the same flight and staying in the same hotel, everything else would be up to the individuals.

So you're offering to take me to Japan for a week for free?
What's the catch?

No.

I wish!  I loved visiting Japan.  We did a tour with Inside Japan Tours... basically they plan the whole thing your you based on your choices and give you all sorts of alternatives for transport options so you don't have to do the hard bit and book hotels and all that... was a better deal that doing it ourselves.  We went around Southern Japan.

Airlines, it seems to me, don't treat large groups as anything special. I was talking to one of the lads on my football team (I coach an U15 team) who had just come back from Naples with his school. Althought there were 40 odd people in the group, the airline was looking to bump one of them off, because they had (as they often do) overbooked the flight, but everyone who had booked had checked-in. Apparently, they eventually offered a couple of other people £200 each + a free extra night in a hotel to come on the next flight the next day.

Oh My god... If i could get my hands on or even see a nihonto in person...
too bad i cant go dont live in the U.K. and too expensive... hope you enjoy your trip :)

You won't get any special treatment from the airline if you are in a large group.

Japan is wonderful though. If you can find the right spots, Osaka is one of the world's great cities and Tokyo's nightlife is so good I have forgotten most of the time I have spent there.

The food is sensational if your mind is in the right place - even shirako (fish sperm) tastes alright if you don't think about what it is. Torisashi is definitely not for the faint of heart though, but it's not bad.
