Here We Go Again.....

more bad news im afraid, he didnt get one but TWO, a tail spot blenny and a firefish as well as 6 astreas

if i monitor the tank everyday and test the tank everyday will they pull through?? they're very pretty and i dont want them to die. next monday ill start a seperate build thread on the marine tank.

I will admit I'm pretty confused reading through this thread regarding the tank's size (is this a 20g?) and whether it is overstocked, being stocked too early, etc...BUT, with any combination of those, I agree test daily if worried and keep on top of water changes if anything looks like it's heading south. I'm sure others who have been following more closely will have more detailed advice for the situation.

Anyway, I mainly wanted to comment on the Astreas, since those frankly seem a more iffy choice to me than a fish in a tank with recent ammonia issues (whether a new or established tank). Keep a close eye on them and their food supply while things are settling out, since the last thing you want is one of them crawling off into a hole somewhere to make the water stats worse by dieing from environmental reasons or starvation.

the current tank is a 20gallon with the blenny, clowns, and firefish with a total of 7 astreas and 1 nerite snail

tbh when i noticed you post i knew there wasgonna be something about those snails, the one astrea and the nerite were present when the spike happened and they were fine, though i have to admit i wasnt watching when my dad just threw them in the tank with no acclimation :/ however i was more careful this time and did all the work which i think mgonna have to get used to for awhile lol i dont mind though ive got nothing else to do

will do ill be monitoring everything, ill test the water daily, feed them every other day, and check on the tank every hour when im home, nothings getting by me as i have had no fish deaths yet (hermits ate ma snails and then they died on the trip) and i plan to keepit that way.... as long as possible. and ive also attached a mesh over the open part of the lid to keep the firefish in the tank

just and update on them aswell, the bllenny seems to favor a spot already away from the clowns and the firefish has a hidy hole for whenever anyone other than me gets real close to the tank lol he knows to behave for ill give it that  plus he swims slower so maybe a good pic will come out soon...

ok ive talked enough lol
