What was the trick to that?My first tank was right next to a window with direct sunlight. The tank had NO live plants and I never had a problem with algae.

After getting all excited about this action, I got home tonight to find one of the males dead, it was hanging out right by where the other has his hide out, and it looked like it at been in a scrap. Down to twoAll the whiptails together, communicating with each other this is the first time I have seen this with these fish, fingers crossed

They’re beautiful.
Our Iti cat doesn't even think about the fish, she just likes a drink of warm water. This was really cool seeing everything come together. I wish I was more organized. I feel my planted tanks never look as nice as many others I have seen. Mine are a bit chaotic while these look so zen and neat.
Iti is so cute. I have a little ginger tabby cat named Ginger (I know, totally original) who loved to get on the tanks, however we found out she was also a fishing cat. O.O When I was much younger, my now husband and I were just starting out, we lived with my In-laws while we got established. Well we had adopted Ginger when we were in college and living in an apartment. We had no fish at the time. Anyways, my father in law had a beautiful planted 55 gallon in the living room. All the fish he had were 3" max. It had been running perfectly for a long time and the fish were quite aged. Then he began to lose them, 2 to 3 at a time. He thought age might have caught up with some of them. Nope. My mother in law caught Ginger on the back of the tank where it was open for plumbing, furry arm deep in it, snagging a little fish out. To this day, even though we no longer live there, he has gutter guard over the opening on the back of the tank. She is quite old now and she can't jump like she used to, she is also deaf but you can see it in her eyes how bad she wants to eat the fish in my tanks. XD
