Hi All

I have a 24" x 12" tank and want to keep some live plants in it.
The only problem is that the tank won't get a huge amount or sun light.

There is only a small window and the room gets light but not a huge amount.

What i have is an 18" compact light fitting.

What would be the best bulbs to put in and does anyone know where to get them from in the UK?

Thank you

Well your better off if the tank gets no sun light...

look for a bulb in the 6500k to 10,000k range for best growth
you may want to look into adding Co2 to see maximum growth and beauty from your plants..

:)

Why would i be better off with no sunlight?

Also can you recomend any bulbs in the 6500k to 10,000k range?

Thank you

Sun light will promote algae growth in the tank, your plants will then have to compete with the algae for light/nutrients.
