Help with ID please....

Hi everyone,

Thanks for taking the time to view this thread.

I was recently offered three fish from a friend who's moving and can't keep his tank any longer, but he, nor I, have any idea what fish these are.

The closest he has come is to say he thought they might be some kind of Danio, but I am lost here.

Any help would be appreciated. (Sorry about the image quality)

Looks like a rainbow fish,but iam never kept them so I cant tell you for sure.

Yup, in water alright.

I caught that picture while they were being fed. (Taken from a lower angle upwards)

They are golden Giant danios (Devario aequipinnatus)

They're about 4 1/2 inches long (roughly).

Looks a lot like them, but the mouth seems to be different on mine (unless I'm just reading too much into them... )

ok, on second viewing they appear to
have more of a Bengal danio shape (Danio devario)
I personally have not heard of bengals comming in a golden variety, although there is no reason they are not available somewhere.

What color are the fish's eyes? Are they red like in the photo or is it just photo redeye?

There may be some red-eye in the photo, but for the most part, they are actually pretty red.
