my barbs are just fine in my 30 gallon

even in my 10 gallon they great!

my sister who is 7 can even keep her 3 from fighing in a 5 gallon

duckdown - a problem of yours may be that you have not enough plants in the tank plus what the others have said ( not enough barbs ) also from my guessing you can keep 1.2 fish per gallon of watter in your tank for them to safly live without any stress what so ever.

man, i'm here.. what do you want me to say?
this fish is bullying my other fish and you expect me not to be pissed off? sorry to everyone i offended, but you know how it is to see your innocent fish being picked on..

If this store doesn't offer me a refund or at least a trade in, I don't know what i'm gonna do.

Also thank you to everyone who offered helpful advice

Can you guys get the hell off my back now please?

temper, temper

the trick is to GIVE the store the fish and ask nothing in return
most places will take the fish if you don't want store credit, refund or a trade
if your just gunna flush the fish then your not getting anything for it anyways
why not let him live and just GIVE him to the store :dunno:

You come to a fish forum were obviously everybody loves fish and you say that a certain type of fish is "gay" and that you are going to flush a perfectly healthy fish. Do you expect everyone to sit back and be ok with that?

That you've cooled down and stopped being so defensive?

We're only here to help.

I know it can make you mad when a fish is being picked on by others, I've been through the same thing but there's no need to be so defensive when people are only trying to help.

Did everything work out OK?

tiger barbs are fin nibblers too. I always have had trouble with them. I always kept them with bigger fish or the same kind. never keep them with small ones ex: neons becuase it wont be a good site.

Yes I expect you to be pissed off and upset...but I don't expect you to direct it at those trying to offer you help and advice.

Man.. its been like a good week now and this damn green and orange finned tiger barb or whatever is still attacking every single other fish i have.. it hasnt killed anyone yet, but its even kicking my bettas ass.. arent bettas supposed to be FIGHTING FISH? defend your damn self you crazy fish!

someone respond! thanks!
Put a plakat (short-finned TRUE fighter) in there and see what happens.

it dosnt sound like he/she has a tiger barb.... it sounds more of a large green barb 'type' :/

as for the mouth, my god! so ur gonna take a swing at an lfs owner, who may/may not gave u bad advice, damn right u got a chip on ur shoulder (not the deep fryed/ oven cooked type either! :look: )

you cant stop a fish for being as it is, u sound like the mouthy type, should we 'flush' u for ur bad behavior? :grr:

Where can I buy a plakat? I'd love to stick one of those things in with this damn green barb..

Yeah, it's not a tiger barb i guess because theres no tiger stripes.. it's a bright green fish with florescent orange fins.. he looks friggin cool, but he's such a punk

as mentioned, its still a barb type it still needs barb companions, if u cannot provide for this fish then take it back and dont think of buying any other 'shoaling' type fish.

oh thats a good idea, stick a plakat in with another male siamese fighting fish :X u do know its still a fighting fish dont u? and to house two males they will kill each other?

i think u need to rethink about comming into this hobby, to even think about houseing 2 male fighters is stupid in its extermes. :<
