Ok, I just tested my 10g freshwater tank and my nitrites are above 10ppm, and my nitrates are around 80 ppm, I just did a 20% water change, treated my new water with AquaSafe and EasyBalance but the levels are still high. My test kit says that anything above .5ppm of nitrites is bad, how do I fix this? Also what can i do to prevent it from happening again?
Currently my tank has: 5 small zebra danios (approx. 1 inch), 2 corydoras catfish (also small), 2 Dwarf Guaramis (both 1.5 inch) and one snail (medium sized).
I have adequate filtration, plenty of aeration, and temp stays at 78 degrees.
Anyone have any ideas about this?
Thanks,
Eli
