Help! Gasping Sick Ghostknife!

Ummm i suppose, unless you are still having troble with nitrites and ammonia

I'm not sure, the ammonia they said seemed high still but i cant afford any other kits at the moment.

Id go for as much water as you can, it can be a pain but its for the fish. :/

ok will do :3 i'll do a 75% so that they can still be underwater XD

Ok i only mnaged to do 50% becase a family member through a fit about me transporting so much water.
On the plus side i did a quick ph test just to see for now and it's at 6.6 same as before with the ph buffer, i used prime as the conditioner and also foud an old pvc tube that he used to have in the tank with the other fish stuff. It's a curve one but its very wide.

Don't know if its good news or bad but the ghostknife did swim while i was adding the water in. Managed to swim to the top twice to get some air and then frilled around for a moment until he settled again. Still heavy breathing but I guess it's good that he's moving?

Might try and hand feed some frozen shrimp tonight as well.

Ok sounds good! If you get him eating and hiding in a tube while he lays down instead of out in the open, then he that should mean hes healthy again. Its normal for BGK to lay down and not move just not generally out in the open.

When did you get this tank and the inhabitants? Have you messed with the filter media?

Keep up with the water changes til you can get a liquid test kit. Just use the prime, as has been said making the pH swing is not going to help at all.

I really hope he pulls through.

thanks so much for the help, i'll see how he goes for now and try to trick him into eating.
Might do a 25% in the morning as well.
Just wanna get that heavy breathing to go down, that swhat worries me the most

Thank you, i got this tank about a year ago or well longer but it was ditched to me about a year ago.
About i'd say 3 months ago i messed with the filter system but that's when i really didnt know what i was doing with it. The previous caretaker had been doing the filters and then just stopped.
So it is my fault for the ammonia and the nitrites but i think it might be going down, might see if i can get to the fish shop again on monday to get it tested.
Might see if there are any test kits i can afford when i go and yeah im not touching the ph. It makes sense that my tap water should be keeping it even since it's at 7.5
Just gotta get him to eat now

API test kits usually only cost around 20$ for the pH, ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate testing.

Make sure you get a liquid test kit.

What have you been feeding him? If you havn't tried them already, bloodworms are usually popular.

Glad you were here to help him Saw, and you have a handsome ghostie :)

They sell those for $50 here otherwise i would have bought it already.
Would have been the first thing i bought XD
I fed the tank community small pellets and occassionally frozen brine shrimp. Might get the blood worms as well ad see if he goes for that since i usd to give a mixture of pellets, worms and shrimp. At first i was told to feed them twice a day but ive realized this is wrong, really bad.

I held a cube to him yesturday and he breathed in maybe one or two, didnt actually go for it.
My angelfish eats everything else.

Np ninj just wanted to try and help that BGK pull through :)

I just had a look at my tank again, got a peek at my worm loach thing (got not idea what he's called i named him Eel ¬¬) ahd that one seems to be breathing heavily too now, before he wasnt
