Hey,

So I have just joined the forum are re-starting my fishkeeping from the sunny climes of Singapore.

I have been keeping fish on and off for about 10 years and previously back in the UK had three aquariums, 150l, 90l and 60l.

I had to take a short break when I moved out to Singapore but as of 8 weeks ago I have a new 60l aquarium up and running.

Have a good day.

Daniel

:hi: to the forum, Daniel.

Hi Daniel!! Hope that you enjoy your stay here. What's it like in Singapore?

to TFF, Daniel! Hope you enjoy it here.

Thank you to all of you!

Singapore is certainly an adventure - very different to the UK.

Fishkeeping in Singapore is very popular too - Arrowanas are very common but it has proven to be difficult to find a reliable LFS.

I did however venture out today after work to one I hadn't been in before and it was great. A huge selection of plants and fish and I spent about an hour and a half talking to the owner who was brilliant. He was incredibly passionate and was able to talk me through his selection of plants and fish in great details with regards to suitability to my own aquarium, without trying to force a sale.

Have a great day everyone!

Glad to hear that you have found a good lfs. Do you have some photos of your tank?

Daniel!
It's always exciting setting up a new tank!
What kind of set-up are you aiming for?

Yeah - arrowanas are very common here. Every single LFS I've been to has a show tank and countless for sale at various sizes.

The tank is a community set-up. If I have a larger one again in the future I may look to do something more unusual but this one needs to be 'pretty' - as I am trying to hook my girlfriend into the hobby (it is working) so that longer term I'll have her backing with regards to pursuing multiple tanks and various setups.

I'll get some pictures up when I can - unfortunately I'm battling ich so in the process of treating it. Pictures to follow when I've got my fish healthy again.

Have a good day everyone!
