Hello,
I have been reading the forums for awhile now and decided to make an account and now finally post.
My first post was a little scare I had with white worms. Which I cleared up asap. Nitrates
Anyway here is a little about me,
I received my first fish when I was 5. I remember I went on and on about how much I wanted one. It was a fishbowl, and with it I got one fantail. Then a 10 gallon replaced the bowl. At 8 I was graduated to a 20 gallon and got a comet to go with my fantail.
The fantail died but my comet lived on to the ripe old age of 13. She even survived a move from Michigan to Texas. She finally passed away awhile ago. I actually had it to where she would come up to me and eat peas or little bits of food out of my hand. She also trained any other fish I had to do the same thing. She was also nearly as long as my forearm when she died.
I guess I am pretty weathered when it comes to experiences. I have had a 150 gallon tank bust on me, I have had an expensive fish from people I trusted kill of everything in my tank with ick (back in the days I didn't know about non lethal ick treatments), but I still find more to learn every day.
As I am approaching 25 and can say I have actually been doing something for 20 years (makes me feel old), I am venturing into new things with my tanks. For example I am finally putting live plants into my tank. I have shrimp now, and a snail.
I don't know of I will post much I am kind of a lurker, but I am starting a journal which I am excited about. I hope to see all you guys around and thanks for all the info I have read so far
