yeah why not ?

i'm going to go against people here and say NO
too tall and skinny

bettas like to swim length ways rather than up and down
get a proper tank.

ok you seem to know what your tralking about so ill ask you another question

what fish can i put (if any ) in that cylinder i measured it .. its 2.1 gallons 4 inches diamiter and 2.4 feet talll (Bubbles too) if you find a solution ill be suprised.....

a plant.

no fish really likes being in that small a space
most small fish want to dart backwards and forwards and play

so yeah, stick with a plant.
get a nice 10 or 20 gallon community tank
or a 4 or 5 gallon betta tank instead
that's what i'd do

Perhaps something like a tall plant and a few 'pest' snails? I find they're really interesting, although they are messy so you'd have to clean it a lot...

yes but cracker, you're in thailand, its nice and warm in thailand
and unless Dude is also in a warm climate, they're going to need a proper heated tank

and you keep your bettas like that because you have dozens of them surely, and for them to grow up in yeah? and not always for their full lifespan?

if you're only going to have 1 pet betta you might as well spoil him rather than stick him in the nearest vase you have to hand just for fashion's sake.

[/rarrrr end]

thailand. durh! hehe.

Exactly .... I use the Thai way in rearing Bettas. They place the Bettas in a 4"x4"x6" tank and works fro them/us.

So Dude's Cylinder is definitely a pretty good tank for his Betta .... :D

No, it doesn't. It would be better if it was 3" tall than 24", betta's breathe air, I'm sure you wouldn't like it if you were swimming in a swimming pool 4mx4m, 24m high, and you had to swim to the top for air... Get a proper tank for a betta, ideally something 12"x8"x8" or bigger
