Hayley's Cycle Log

1/4 of teaspoon of bicarb if and when the ph drops below 6.5 wll give a small boost. I have cyled a tank at 6.5 in 21 days so it didt make much differnce to the main tank which was ph of 7.5 and took 28 days

with the used media i expected to see some movement, from what ppl have logged when they have used it. Especially when the Amm dropped overnight on tank 2..now its gone back up to 3ppm?

hrumph!!! :grr:
i need something mature, smelly and full of bacteria....any offers??? :hey:

so...i went out and bought API stress Zyme+ do i use it for tank 1 or will it balls everything up? It's been going longer than tank 2 and there is no change in 10 days!

tank 2 day 6

seen a lovely purple and orange in tank 2 today...Amm still 2ppm though...
Tank 1 is still static.....can someone answer if i should add the Stress Zyme+? or will it balls up the cycle?
Thanks x

Leave the Stress Zyme out now.
thought you'd say that...
so to be sure...i still wait till Amm drops to 0.0 then put it back up to 4ppm...are the nitrite spike and Nitrates ok...?
does it look normal?

Yep all looks like its going fine, except tank 1 is starting to take liberties now lol. I have a feeling that the very 1st overdose of ammonia may have set us back a few days, it will still get there mind :good:

i did the water change though to drop it down...hmmm strange huh?
i have noticed a white slime/coating on the heater knob and suckers? any ideas what this is? Thanks BBA...you have been my guiding light.

Ah ha the ammonia moved then in tank 1. Normaly it takes 7-10 days for ammonia to drop so its really not that far beined. You must have driven your hubby nuts by now lol :S

The white stuff on knobs and dials is normal btw, it will go in time on its own. I think we will see nitrite in tank 1 in the next 7 days

Hubby just sighed...really loudly! :hey: stoopid tank....whos idea was it to have fish???? (oh.....mine  )
