Gf225s tank

PS gf225 hope u don't midn me using u as an exmaple its just ur tank is faboluse

yeah i guessed that im thinking for next year when i have got my masters, and then will either be doing phd or a job but hopefully will have a touch more money

Depending on the size tank it's going to be around $80 to $120 for power compact lights. The lighting is what makes planted tanks expensive. Then substrate enrichment is going to be another $20. You should figure spending about $20 on plants and algae eaters. And then there's odds and ends. Just an estimate...

If you want it that heavily planted, you have to spend more than just 20 dollars. Some every day plants cost 12 dollars at the lfs.

How big is the tank? This will also determine the size of the bulbs which will affect the cost noticeable.

Substrate + fertilizers about 30 bucks and co2 you could go DIY.

The cost of fish depends on the size of tank.

Good luck

The cost of fish depends on how picky you are. If you wanted, you could pick up about 20-30 feeder guppies; those are super-cheap. You could also pay $4-6 apeice for neons.

why don't you take the time to read my sig where the is an explaination of my poor spelling. unfortuatly i am dyslexic, but really by now i am used to small minded idiots like yenko.

i mean do you not have anything better to do then edit your own post to have a go! grow up

and yea i was asking what the price of GF225s tank was either form him form him or from people with simerlar setups

Is there really any need to reslut in personal abuse when it's cleary un-called for?

You simply could have chosen not to reply in the thread when you were so obviously offended by someones genuine spelling error. I really don't get what some people get out of doing stuff like this.

Edit: And if you can't spell your post correctly, you probably lack the patience and dedication required to run the tank you want. Gf225's setup was probably pricey, too.
Somebody got out of bed the wrong side today...and that's being polite.

Good luck with this One_Trick_Pony...I would also absolutely love a tank like GF225s.

yeah me too so far my tank looks like....

well i just put in 175 dollars today, and a total of around 300 and i still dont have the lights yet or hardly any plants

i bought 2 Nutrfin Co2 units at 50 bucks each, 3 bags of Flourite Substrate at 30 bucks each, i'm limited to my lighting since i bought a aquarium kit so i can fit 2 20W bulbs in a 32 gallon tank and those bulbs are going to be around 50 dollars for both so thats approx. 350-400 dollars not including what plants i want to buy considering the ones i have now survive

its not cheap at all

well having a tank as great as gf's requires a lot of research ! (and a few pms to gf  ), it doesn't really need to be expensive, it depends on your taste, going DIY can save a lot of money but unless your a really gifted DIY man maker dude, diy setups wont look as cool as commercially produced ones. :) like lets say a reactor for example or something like that :)

also something i noticed is that where you are tends to make the tank cheaper, here my whole set up cost me roughly around 4-5K Php, that makes it around a 100 dollars ;) with plants and everything

but i just got simple easy to grow plants like vals, crypts and a few other p;lants

Thanks guys. I've spent over £1000 on my setup (approx US$ 1800). However IF I knew what I do now I could have the same tank for about a third of that. I have made many mistakes along the way costing me a lot of money but obviously I have learnt from them.

My biggest advice would be to buy the best equipment you can afford all at once. This is better than upgrading slowly as your plants and fish will not have to adapt so much. Without going into too much detail my tank is what is known as a high-tech planted tank i.e. lots of light, injected CO2, liquid fertilisers, nutrient-rich substrate with heater cable and large reqular water changes using soft water. Unfortunately I does cost a fair amount to setup but I rarely need to buy new plants to replace dying ones!!

I'm currently writing a large article on setting up a high-tech planted tank so keep an eye out. I'll try to get the mods to stick it.
